Fraser Valley didn't seem to mind the cold ,wet weather Sunday.They advanced from their POD in 2nd place with a 3-1 record.That meant the Chiefs would play Abbotsford in the semi final who came out of their POD as the #1 seed.The Chiefs got to them early and often handing the host a 9-0 score.Edmonton Prospects beat Langley 3-2 in the other semi final, setting the stage for a Edmonton/Fraser Valley Championship Game.The Chiefs led 3-1 and gave up 2 runs in the 6th for a 3-3 tie.With runners at 2nd & 3rd with 1 out in the 7th, Mitch Dornblut wacked a bases clearing double off the left field wall to score 2 more and see the Chiefs win their 3rd Abbotsford Invitational Tourney in 8 years. |
