The Mudcats will be participating in the Baseball Manitoba / WSBL Provincial Qualifier tournament starting on Friday June 18th at Giants (Koskie) Field.

Based on their current second place standing in the WSBL, the team is ranked #1 out of the 4 League teams who have chosen to particpate. As a result, they will be playing Winnipeg North on Friday at 7:00 PM.

The other two teams participating are the St James A's and the Fort Garry Brewers. They will play on Friday evening at about 9:30 PM. The winners of the two Friday games will play each other Saturday at 1:00 PM.

The winner of this tournament chooses their "prize" from two options, with the runner-up inheriting the other one.

One choice is particpation in the Provincial AA All-Stars tournament. This tournament will decide which Manitoba Senior team will particpate in the Western Seniors in 2011, to be held in BC. The winners also host and particpate in next season's edition of this same affair.

To illustrate, our own Elmwood Giants Seniors will host the 2010 edition at Giants Field July 15 to 18 and are already qualified by virtue of having won last year. Their win last year also means they are on their way to Munster, SK in August.

The other option is to participate in the Manitoba Senior AA Provincials, to be held in Wawanesa the weekend of August 6 to 9. The winners of that affair are crowned the Manitoba Senior AA Provincial Champions for the season.

Come out and watch some motivated Senior teams who are vying for the right to represent themselves, the League and the Province in higher levels of competition!
