Thank you all for your patience. We've had a lot thrown at us all at once especially for those of you who are new to the league this year. I hope this email will answer all your questions. If not please stop me on the field or give me a call.
1. TEAM JERSEYS Unfortunately we were given the wrong tub of jerseys. I now have the correct practice and game jerseys and would like to distribute them tonight (Tuesday) and tomorrow. Please bring back the practice and game jerseys from last week. Don't worry about washing them I will do that so the rest of the team can continue to practice while we exchange jerseys a few kids at a time.
We will try to get the returning players their numbers from last year. Some parents purchased photo buttons etc. If you could send me an email with your returning players number I can go pull those out today and not spend so much time at the field.
2. HELMET STICKERS & T_SHIRTS Most of you are aware that we can get Jets helmet stickers and t-shirts for all the kids. The cost is $12 and it would be great if I could have that all collected by the end of practice tomorrow so we can place the order and have the stickers before our first game.
3. OPENING DAY This Saturday August 29th is opening day from noon to 4pm. Each team is recognized and plays two 5-10 minute games. Scott would like the players to be at the field around 11. This will help to get them organized and warmed up. The snack shack should be open. In case it isn't don't forget to bring plenty of liquids for your player. As soon as we get a schedule we will let you know.
4. LITTLE CAESARS FUNDRAISER I will be passing out the forms this week with all the information you need. The league would like each child to sell at least 4 items. If you choose not to participate the league asks for a $20 donation.
5. PRACTICE Practice will be Monday and Thursdays from 5-7 starting next week when school begins. The week of Labor Day we'll practice Tuesday and Thursday. You can also watch the calendar for updates
6. VOLUNTEERS Scott will be looking for some parent volunteers during practice to help hold bags and maybe even to assist with drills. We have a roster of 17 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders. As you know their attention span isn't the greatest sometimes and there have already been some helmet issues and yes even a lost tooth.
We will also be asked to help run the concession stand alng with some other field duties. Each family is responsible for at least one volunteer shift. As soon as I get our sign up sheet I will pass it around.
If there is anything I missed please let me know. If you could respond with your name and your players name so I know that you received this message I would greatly appreciate it. We've had a couple emails bounce back and I want to make sure everyone is getting all the communications.
