MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon’s Kyle Gerlach ran for 103 yards and scored four touchdowns to help his team beat Marion 39-8 Friday.
Gerlach carried the ball 16 times and also caught a 59-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Tim Deinert had 112 yards on three attempts and Jonny Nebelsick caught a 50-yard touchdown in the first quarter.
Nebelsick also led the Mustangs’ defense with 14 tackles.
For Marion, Steven Schoenwald had 148 yards on 21 carries and he scored his team’s lone touchdown in the fourth quarter on an 83-yard run.
Phil Luke and Taylor Koehn each had eight tackles to lead the Bears defensively.
