Congratulations to the
6th Grade Boys-Black team who took 2nd place in the WYBL ‘B’ Division
Tournament this past Sunday. The boys played great team basketball and
outstanding defense all day to earn their way to the championship game.
They beat Wauwatosa West and Shorewood in their fist two games by narrow
margins. In the semifinal, the Chargers came back to tie the game in the
final minute and send it into overtime, where they gained a come from behind
overtime victory. In the championship game against Mukwonago, the
Chargers played tough the entire game. After being down by as much as 12
points with under 4 minutes to go, the Chargers stormed back and cut the lead
to 4 with 1 minute left, only to fall short by 6 points in the end.
The accomplishment in
the WYBL Tournament capped off a terrific season for the 6th Grade Jr.
Chargers-Black team where all the boys improved their basketball skills and the
team compiled over 30 wins on the season.
