Posted May 30/12 - Angels win 3 in Victoria

The Angels rolled into Victoria this past weekend, looking to improve their winning record.  In the double-header against Victoria Red Eagles on Saturday, the Angels won both games. The first game was close for the first few winnings but then the Angels bats went to work. In what would be the longest game played this season (almost 3 and half hours) they exploded in the 7th inning, winning 24-11. In the second game, the Angels jumped out to a 10-2 lead in the first 4 innings led by the power of Austin (2 home runs), Sheldon and Jereymi, each with home runs.  But the Victoria squad didn't give up and managed to score 6 runs over the next 3 innings.  Final score, Angels 10, Victoria 8.

On Sunday, the Angels moved to Rotary Park to face the Victoria Black Eagles. The Angels took control quickly and won the first game 10-0 thanks to great pitching by Jordan.  In the second game the Angels spotted Victoria 4 runs and trailed 4-0 after 4 innings.  The Angels proceeded to score 9 runs in the next 3 innings. A questionable call by the umpire stopped an Angels rally with bases loaded.  The Angels took a lead into the bottom of the seventh but unfortunately were unable to hold off Victoria who ended up winning 10-9.

Still a very successful weekend. Up next Aldergrove.
