Subject: Livingston Travel Soccer Program
Dear LSC Travel Parents,
With Labor Day around the corner, we hope you are all excited to kick off
another season of Livingston Travel Soccer. As we plan for the upcoming
season (as we do all seasons), we have sought ways to improve the Travel
experience for all the kids and parents who are a part of our Travel
program. One thing we are focusing on this year is improved communication
within our program and between parents and our Committee. While we are unlikely
to prevent every issue that arises or quell every rumor that spreads during the
course of the year, our past experience tells us that more communication goes a
long way toward resolving the issues that inevitably arise and putting to rest
some of the rumors that tend to get spread. To that end, we are undertaking two
key initiatives that are aimed at increasing communication in our program:
1. For those teams trained by an SDA trainer, SDA is stressing to the trainers
the need to increase communication among trainers and parents. This will mainly
manifest itself by way of a weekly newsletter regarding the team including
positives and areas of improvement. If you find you are not receiving
this weekly feedback, please let us or Matt Myers at SDA know and we will work
with your trainer to ensure proper feedback is being provided to you. If you
have a non-SDA trainer, your manager should have a conversation with the
trainer to ensure that proper feedback and communication is provided throughout
the season.
2. In order to ensure
that the Travel Committee is made aware of issues that arise on the teams early
(and before issues escalate), we are assigning one of the seven volunteer
members of the Travel Committee to serve as each team’s liaison to the
Committee. While your managers remain your primary point of contact for the day-to-day
questions and concerns, you should not hesitate to reach out to your Travel
Committee Liaison if you believe there is an issue that deserves the Travel
Committee’s attention. With each Committee member assisting 4-5 teams, we
believe that this will provide the best means for ensuring we are properly in
touch with all 28 of our teams this upcoming Fall. Below you will
find a list of the committee liaison for your team.
We hope you all enjoy
the final weeks of summer and we are very much looking forward to kicking off
the season with the EFT Tournament in a few weeks.
