Posted Jul 12/12 - Baumgartner Set For Return in Union Hill
After being sidelined for 2 weeks with a groin injury, Baumgartner poised for return against Seafoam.

A Dr.'s evaluation along with baseball related activities on Thursday night, and Sam "Bammy" Baumgartner has announced he should be ready to play this Sunday.  Baumgartner pulled his groin pitching against Le Center on July 1st.  This news comes with a sigh of relief from all Outlaws faithful.  Baumgartner has been all but unhittable on the mound in 2012 as he has diced through 17 plus innings of work and not allowed an earned run.  Sam will not be 100%, and will most likely be a game time decision based on how he is feeling after pre-game warmups.  All current indications however are pointing towards Sammy being in the lineup for game one against the Seafoam Hawks.

Attendance for the Outlaws dugout is up this week and a full complement of players are available for Sunday's twin bill.  Pitching is still a bit thin, but that will pretty much be the case for the remainder of the 2012 season.

Mangan to Make Outlaw's Debut!!

Look out for new comer Sean Mangan, who will make his Outlaws debut this weekend.  Sean was signed to a contract and added to the roster weeks ago, but has been unable to attend a game up until this point.  As was the case for most of the Outlaws roster coming into this season, Sean has been away from the game of baseball for several years.  After chatting with Sean I can report that he is very excited to get back out on the diamond and regain some of the glory from years past.

Sean is a solid middle infielder with excellent range and a strong arm.  He should also offer the Outlaws some flexibility due to the fact he can play catcher if needed.  With some arm time, and if his arm responds to switching from a softball to a baseball, Sean also hopes to be throwing a few innings. I'm also hoping to hear a chorus of "Boom Shaka Laka!" from the bleachers, as this is Sean's daughter's cheer when Sean hits a softball home run. Maybe the chant will work just as well for a baseball flying over the fence.  Either way, Sean is a welcome addition to the Outlaws roster and we all look forward to playing with him.

Hopefully we will see a few Outlaws fans in Union Hill on Sunday.  Apparently it is a very nice field!!  See you there!!!
