The portland rockets opened their 54th season this weekend. The rockets go 1-2 on the weekend losing sun 17-7 to the richmond riverrats Sunday. The rockets split with the napolean riverbandits losing9-8 before taking the nitecap 7-6.
At beautiful mcbride stadium sun mitch waters started and pitched well for 3 innings , in fact a thomas mccowan single plated zach tanner and the rockets led 1-0 in the second. Dan bollenbacher came on in the 4th with the game tied 3-3 the rocket workhorse found no good turns,

Sunday at beautiful Miami University McKie stadium rockets lost game 1 9-8 in the last inning. Trailing 4-0 in the 6th rockets marked a 7 spot keyed by a 3 run homer by justin marrero the rockets led 8-4 in the last inning. As marrero rounded third after his blast, we slapped hands, justin said, “that one’s for you pud” Zach tanner tripled in the top of the 7th and scored on a
wild pitch,,,, nice to see portland on top 8-4 with but one more inning to play. Closer junior santos on the mound gets 2 strikeouts before a looping aluminum double just out of center fielder
