Thurs evening the Portland
rockets made their first trip this year to ft waynes Carrington
Field. And for when
the one great scorer comes to mark against your name, he asks not
If you won or lost, but did you beat ft. wayne? Yes indeed. Rockets 7 expos 3.
Skies cleared, beautiful full moon, and an old recipe for
victory, good pitching, defense
And timely hitting. And
a sizeable contingent of rocket fans on hand including Charlie and Vicky tague
Rockets plate 3 runs in the 1st inning and cruise
to a 7-1 lead, 2 run single by billy geeslin, his first game back in 2 weeks
after a shoulder injury, kyle marker from Celina
Also had 2 rbi, and chris miller had 2 hits. Goeff bowers scored 3 runs in the game.
Portland outhit ft. wayne 6-4.
Rocket pitchers mitch waters, matt helm from marion, and connor
milligan, struck out 10 batters, scattering 4 hits.
Congrats to billy geeslin’s team, the coldwater cavs for
their state baseball championship.
And good luck team Indiana
in their tournament trails.
Rockets win in ft. wayne
moves the season record to 4-4
Portland will play Saturday
at 1pm, dh vs northeast kekionga the Indiana
tech college team. It will be persimmon ridge day as Jamie is taking them out
to the ballgame, just like we sang yesterday.;
we had a chance to visit our friends at persimmon yesterday, and they
are rocket fans.
Tyler Reynolds and travis gray will be the starting
pitchers.
Rockets will travel Sunday to ft wayne
to face our rivals, the ft wayne
jackers.
Mitch waters and dan bollenbacher will be the starters.
We are expecting big things this weekend.
