June 15,2105  portland rockets sweep marlins 14-0 and 6-2

Good morning baseball fans, it’s a beautiful day in Portland, for when the one great scorer comes to mark against your name, he asks not whether you have won or lost, but did you beat fort wayne,

Portland rockets beat fort wayne marlins Sunday twice at beautiful runkle-miller field, 14-0 and 6-2.

Dh complete sweep in 3 hours and 58 min. wow

Game won dan bollenbacher goes all 5 inn. 65 pitches, 8 Ks 2 hit shutout 2 walks,

Rockets score 3 runs in the first inning and score every inning banging out 13 hits, 14-0 winner winner chicken dinner,  lees famous recipe in Portland worked out a deal back in the 90s free chicken dinner to a rocket who hit a home run, ncaa put a stop to that,

Cant be giving freebies to college kids baloney, I remember joe luce had like 17 dinners

Brandon reamon hit a rocket home run into the breezy air Sunday, his shot and a big 3 run double by kyle Selvey paved the way for the game 2 win 6-2 over the marlins.

Reamon and billy geeslin of coldwater oh, each had 4 hits on the day, ryan penley of Sydney oh, had 3 hits as did kyle Selvey, as did Dalton tinsley with a double and Dalton scored 4 runs,. 

Rockets were tied in game 2 in the 5^th inn. And bases loaded ,  big righthander jimmy west from Dayton came in with 2 huge punch outs, went 2 inn. And got the win.

Coach doug tinsley, was point on .  he said, Gold star award to jimmy striking out 3 in a row in a stressful situation.

Tyler Reynolds and craig martin also worked on the mound.

Rockets record now 8-1 and were half way through june,  I thought we would probably be rained out, but the field held up well,  and the hard ball action at the corner of western and blaine, and the smell of the grill and the smile on that young mans face Brandon reamon as he rounded third  after his home run,

I told him as I often do after a 4 bagger, love ya in Portland, and I meant it.

A big rocket salute to the Huffman family for their help at the ballpark, I asked Maddox how many foul balls did you get, he said 5 or 10.

Gotta love that.

Rockets on the road this week, tues we play at taylor university, 7 pm there under their new lights;  the twin city bankers, they  are the only team who has beaten us as we split first game in may.

Mitch waters will start tues,

Rockets then will be in south bend sat and Sunday for a 4 game stint.\
