Good morning baseball fans, it’s a beautiful day in Portland.  And wed nite was as lovely and fun a summer evening can offer in Portland.  Crossroads credit union nite is always an event and they just keep getting funner.  Portland rockets continued their winning ways wed. eve with a 8-4 win over the ft. wayne panthers. It was a buzzing at the corner of western and blaine, easily the largest crowd of the season, and the crossroads tent was like a beehive of activity. We say atta boy crossroads gang, janet, becky, jeana, wow those gals are zany and fun.  Bat spin, ball toss, tim devoss in a money machine, really

Tim would step in that money machine and might think it a pay phone, or heavens, a portapot,

The crowd was still settling in when like a shot in the woods, you here the crack of the bat, shot—resounding hit by mitch waters, shot-double by tj lindstrand, shot-double by tristen becher. Then in the 3^rd inn. Boom, home run by Dalton tinsley  next inn. Shot-billy geeslin singles and boom, 2 run home run blast to the woods by zach tanner,

Tanner as you may know from Yorktown, played for the rockets 3 yrs ago, then signed professionally in the independent league. He still has skills that are fun to watch, he plays a 1^st class ss, and now has 8 home runs on the year, if you would prorate that out over a major league season, he would have surpassed babe ruth at 64\

Rockets cruise to a 8-4 win every starter but one had a hit, 3 hits becker and 2 each waters and lindstrand,

Dan borchers from Versailles oh, with mom and dad in the stands, went 8 inn on a hot summers nite, 110 pitches and allower 4 runs on 7 hits, 5 ks

Atta boy dan, or as I  call him ground ball borchers, we like ground balls, they play well on our field, we gobble em up and turn em into outs,

Special thanks on this special nite to our guys at the parks department, particular we single out teddy ferguson, cant help but like that guy, he is a gem

Runkle-miller field never looked better, makes us all Portland proud,

The sights the sounds man, I know my dad ray miller would have been Portland proud,

Samantha Thomas was like running an orchestra—she rocks

The 50/50 drawing was a record, winner ron muhlenkamp from coldwater, he and wife on hand, just to watch the rockets, their sons riley and randall were good rockets several years ago, and thanks for your generous contribution to the team.

I get a bit sentimental when I scan the view and see former rockets/teammates of mine on hand.

It is gives me a warm fuzzy to see rockets come back

Hearn, chittum, takats, sautbine, jones, gray, Hendee,  love ya in Portland guys

Like also to special mention asst coach doug tinsley, he is a true baseball man, and a true rocket 6 years in, he breathes it and gets it, always enjoy dougie fresh at the ballpark

Just curious if anyone will call him dougie fresh, sounds like a breakfast thing

One more regular season game in Portland, and it is a big one,

Friday nite lites at runkle-miller field, 715 fri, the Portland rockets host the ft. wayne jackers,  they are our rival and they are tough customers, they have gone to the world series I believe 2 of the last 3 years, not much love lost between these two teams.

We really need to give these guys something to remember,

Pack up the lawn chair, the cooler, snacks lets have supper at the park

Come on Portland, we need ya fri nite 715

Cause ya know, you cant beat fun for a good time
