Happy July 4th to all you Great Americans!

Portland Rockets win 3 games in Fort Wayne Federation Tournament to be the only undefeated team headed to the Championship Sunday.  Rockets defeated Fort Wayne Cubs behind Dan Bollenbacher, with a clutch 2 out hit by Michael Ingram in the last at bat. Then on Saturday, we defeated Shady Nook behind one-hit pitching for 6 innings by Bill Geeslin. A squeeze bunt in the last inning by Chris Tillery scored Bryce Cook to get the 2-1 win over Shady Nook. In the winner's bracket on Saturday, Rockets beat LaMargarita 7-2. Will Waters, Derek Mounsey, and Tyler Palmer pitched the victory. Key hits in this game were by Mark Isenberg and Justin Morero.

On Sunday, July 4, the Rockets play for the championship at 2 pm vs. the winner of the LaMargarita and Shady Nook game. If the "Boys of Summer" win, we are champs! If we lose, they have to beat us twice and we go back on Monday, likely at 11 am.

Rockets welcome back last year starter and outfielder, Bryan Brudi, who this spring finished a most successful campaign helping Vincennes to post-season status.
