Posted Dec 18/10 - Balanced team effort gives Pflugerville 86-40 win over Parkway HS (La.) in early Saturday action at the Rumble in the Bluff tourney; face Saint Louis HS next on Saturday night
LAKE CHARLES, LA - Behind a balanced scoring attack where all 12 players scored and 10 different players had assists, the state-ranked Pflugerville varsity cruised to an 86-40 victory over Parkway High Saturday morning in the final day of play at the Rumble in the Bluff Tournament. The game was held at Sam Houston HS in Lake Charles.

The Panthers, now 12-3, were hot from the floor, shooting 55 percent for the game as they connected on 37 of 67 field goal attempts. Pflugerville also dominated on the boards, out-rebounding Parkway 38-20. The Panthers held Parkway to just 11 field goals in the game (11-for-48) and a 23 percent shooting effort. Parkway scored 15 of its points from the foul line.

Parkway, hailing from Bossier City, La., is now 5-5.

Panther senior post Nneka Enemkpali netted a game-high 18 points, while senior forward Adesuwa Ebomwonyi (eight points) pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds, to lead the way. Pflugerville also received 11 points apiece from senior guard Curtiesha Woods and junior forward Itiana Taylor and nine points from senior forward Shoneice Yett, while junior guard Ari Booth collected a season-high and game-best seven assists. Sophomore point guard Taliyah Brooks added six points and five assists.

Pflugerville jumped out to a 24-10 lead after the first quarter as Enemkpali had 10 points, five rebounds and three steals to pace the Panthers in the first eight-minute span. With all 13 Panthers playing in the first half, P'ville took a 41-25 lead into halftime. Pflugerville shot a sizzling 61.2 percent from the floor in the first half, making 19 of 31 field goal attempts.

Pflugerville will close out its three tournament games when it faces Saint Louis Catholic from Lake Charles at 6:20 p.m. Saturday evening.
