| With the inclement weather and snow in Central Texas, all school districts have cancelled school and athletic competitions for Friday, Feb. 4. The Pflugerville-Georgetown basketball game, a showdown between two of the top 10 5A programs in the state, was scheduled for a Friday, Feb. 4 7:30 p.m. start at Georgetown. The game has now been moved to SATURDAY, FEB. 5 at 7:30 p.m., to be played at Georgetown High School. Pflugerville, ranked No. 10 in the TABC/Tex Preps Basketball Magazine poll, stands 25-5 overall and is in second place in the District 16-5A rankings at 9-1, one game behind Georgetown (25-3, 10-0). Georgetown is ranked No. 2 in the TABC rankings. In their first meeting this year at Pflugerville, Georgetown prevailed 58-50. All Georgetown-Pflugerville girls and boys basketball games will now take place on February 5. The Panther girls JV will square off at 6:00 p.m., the Panther freshman Gold (A) squad plays at 5 p.m. (not 5:15 as originally scheduled) and the Panther freshman Blue (B) team meets the Georgetown freshman B squad immediately following the 5 p.m. game. |
