PFLUGERVILLE, Texas -- Following the Panthers' decisive victory over Cedar Ridge Friday (Jan. 11) which gave head coach Nancy Walling her 600th career varsity victory, several media outlets saluted the team and Coach Walling. Four different Central Texas TV stations were on hand to film highlights of the Panthers' 72-41 victory over Cedar Ridge at PHS while the game was televised live in the region via KBVO TV, the sports and entertainment channel of parent company KXAN-TV.

Under Walling’s direction, Pflugerville has made 16 state playoff appearances, including the last nine years. Pflugerville has advanced to the Texas state tournament Final Four three times (1994, 2005, 2009) under Walling and has been a State regional finalist five times. Her Panthers have earned 10 District championships, and has gained the district title seven times in the last nine years. Her overall career record is an impressive 600-246 through 846 games (71 percent winning percentage).The highly-successful and award-winning 29-year Texas coaching veteran, Walling also serves as PHS Athletic Coordinator along with her basketball coaching duties. She is in her 26th year overall as a high school girls basketball head coach, serving the last 24 as P'ville head coach as she began her tenure in 1989. She was a finalist for WBCA National Coach of the Year honors in 2009-10, finishing third in national voting.

"We are so proud of Nancy’s continued success at Pflugerville High School, both on and off the court,” Dupre said. “Nancy has served as a positive role model and mentor for hundreds of students and student athletes during her years at Pflugerville High School and we are fortunate to have someone of her caliber educating our young adults.”
