| Posted Feb 23/11 - Sandvipers Sign 4 New Players for 2011 Spring Season |
| With the loss of Chris Ponto, Ryan Moore & Wes Cox the Sandvipers have been busy rebuilding the roster for the 2011 Spring Season. The newest additions to Sandvipers are Nick Ward (Stockton CA 2b/Inf) and Sean Reilly (Arborview H.S. C/OF), Joe Carque (P/OF SDSU) and returning Nate Haberkorn (Utiity). Haberkorn returns to the Sandvipers, Nate was on the original Sandvipers team, played NBC for the Sandvipers and was part of the 2005 Sandvipers Memorial Day Tournament winners. Nate adds some additional power and looks to insert into Wes Cox' spot in the Sandvipers lineup. Nick Ward playing for the first time in Las Vegas adds speed and an additional switch hitter into the Sandvipers line up. Hell be looked upon to be the Vipers everyday Second Baseman of the future. Sean Reilly the Catcher in waiting. Sean gives flexibility behing the plate and will allow Josh Meents some time in the outfield and on the Mound. Sean should work into the everyday catching position by mid season for the Sandvipers. Joe Carque brings a power arm to the mound for the Sandvipers. He a vetern player and replaces Moore in the rotation of Kyle Clarke, Santino DeWereede and Steve Johnston Joe should be an inning eater for the Vipers. Sandvipers are excited for this upcoming season which kicks off March 6th, 9am at Cheyenne H.S. |
