After an 11-5 loss to the Isanti Redbirds on Saturday the Lakers came back Sunday to take a 6-3 victory over the Mankato Mets. This sets up a rematch with the Redbirds Monday at 1 in Brownton. If successful in the 1:00 game the Lakers would have to repeat the win immediately following that game to claim the State Class C Championship since this is a double elimination.

In Saturdays game vs. Ianti, Waconia spotted the Redbirds 5 runs in the first in a mistake filled game. They came back to make it 5-3 but couldn't stop the bleeding.

In Sundays  Lakers/Mets game Peter Brown pitched a strong game for the first 6 innings followed up by Dalton Sawyer for for 2 and 2/3. Plato draftee Tony Wischnack came in to get the save getting the final out. Down 3-1 a big 5 run 8th inning by the Lakers was led by a key double by Jeremy Salden that tied the score at 3-3 then Craig LaPlante was intentionally walked . With bases now loaded and one out Nick Litfin drove the ball to the fence clearing the bases and giving Waconia the 6-3 advantage.
