After a rough start the Waconia Lakers had a big inning to take the lead against the Norwood Indians and put the game in their favor. Craig LaPlante got his first start of the season and allowed 3 runs (1 earned) in 2 1/3 innings. Waconia native Ben Smothers came in relief to pick up the win after the Lakers came back with 5 runs in the 4th inning. Kevin Bullis was the rally starter getting hit in his Schwarzenegger like bicep by a pitch. The inning concluded with Ben Smothers and Ronnie Olson hitting back to back 2 run bas hits. Kodey Simon cruised in the last three innings for his first save of the season. Along with getting the win Ben Smothers led the team with 3 hits, 2 of them being doubles.
The Lakers next game is against St. Boni at Waconia on Sunday.
