| After a long break the Waconia Lakers got on track beating the Mayer Blazers 6-2 on Tuesday night. Ryan Naughton was steady only giving up 2 earned run in 6 innings and striking out 6. After an early run by Mayer in the top of the first Waconia answered back with back to back doubles by Ben Smothers and Ronnie Olson. The Lakers struck again with 4 runs in the 3rd inning with Jeremy Salden producing a rbi double, which was later capped off by a Kevin Bullis 2-run triple. "That was my first triple in 13 years," Bullis stammered as he awkwardly slid into third. Nick Huckreide added an rbi double in the 5th inning for his first Laker hit to bring the lead to 6-1. "Every at bat I would get the heebie jeebies because I wanted to get my first hit so bad," Huckreide described his monumental moment. Josh Lenz then came in and shut the door the last 3 innings to earn his first save of the season. Leading the way for the Lakers were Jeremy Salden and Ronnie Olson, who had 2 hits a piece. Kodey Simon reached base 3 times and scored 2 runs. The Lakers are now 13-3 in the CRVL and play at home vs. the Hamburg Hawks Friday night. |
