Spring Hill had the bats going early and often, as they defeated the Flames 18-6 in seven innings, at Farming.
The Flames got off to a fast start in the first inning. Zach Posterick led off with a bunt single, and Craig Klein walked. Chris Wehseler grounded into a force play, and Zach scored when the return throw got away from the first basement. After a strikeout, Derrick Roush singled to right, advancing Chris to second. Craig Rausch hit a towering homerun to right, giving the Flames an early 4-0 lead.
Farming scored singled runs in the fourth and fifth innings. In the fourth, Derrick led off with a long double and eventually scored on an RBI ground by Craig. In the fifth, Zach doubled and scored on an RBI groundout by Chris.
The Flames are now 3-3 in the Stearns County League-South Division, which is good for third place. The Flames have a two-game lead over St. Martin.
