On a chilly and blustery afternoon in Richmond, the Flames banged out 17 hits on their way to a 17-11 victory over the Royals. Farming had two huge innings, scoring six runs in the second and plating another eight runs in the fifth.
The Flames' bats were on fire in spite of the weather. Chris Wehseler hit a grand slam for the Flames, and drove in six runs on the afternoon. Derrick Roush was 4 for 6 with a double and homer, with three RBI's and three runs scored. Greg Holthaus was 4 for 5 with three doubles and two RBI's, and Ian Hofhauth went 3 for 5 with a run scored. John Theis went 2 for 4 with three runs scored.
On the mound, Zach Posterick pitched the first five innings to earn the win, giving up three runs (two earned) on three hits. He walked one and struck out three. Ryan Schleper pitched three innings, and John Theis pitched the ninth.
