The Flames and Paynesville Pirates played to a 2-2 tie in a game that was called after nine innings, under the lights at Paynesville.
Kyle Lieser hit a two-run signle in the fifth inning to score both Flames runs. Paynesville did not get their first hit until the 6th inning, when they tied the game.
The Flames got exceptional pitching on the evening. Ian Hoffbarth pitched three scoreless innings to lead things off in his first pitching outing of the season. Ryan Schleper pitched two innings giving up one unearned run. John Theis had his best outing of the year, going three strong innings and allowing 1 run. Brad Mergen pitched a scoreless ninth, striking out the side.
