| The Winsted Wildcats bolstered their roster late last evening by drafting Watertown Red Devils Pitcher/SS Josh Anthony and Mayer Blazer's 1B/3B/P Nic Haller. As of 8:10am CST today, neither player has agreed to the terms of their contracts. Wildcats Manager/Player/Blue Note Owner Neil Schlagel is currently working on some sort of "after-hours beverage" arrangement with the two veteran players with hopes of signing the two yet this morning. If Schlagel's attempts are spurned, the Wildcats organization will send in their "contract negotiations closer," Gerald Ide. Gerald's method is simple: He takes the prospective players out golfing and will recite the entire Minnesota Gopher football team roster dating back to 1971 until they cave. It only takes about 3 or 4 roster years before that happens. ****BREAKING NEWS**** Both Anthony and Haller have agreed to contract with the Winsted Wildcats. A formal press conference will be held later this afternoon after both players pass their physicals, which are administered by Playboy's, Miss July 2009. If Miss July cannot make it on short notice, Wildcats player Ben Machemehl will fill in. |
