Posted May 2/10 - Wildcats Lose To Green Isle, 5-2
It's that time of year again! Time for Wildcats game updates! Hopefully, I can continue to come up with new material for my slightly offensive (for Wildcats players) game recaps! Here goes the 1st column of 2010!

The Wildcats lost to the Irish in Green Isle on Sunday, 5-2.
Funny, the date was 5/2 as well. Maybe someone was trying to tell us something?

Pitching for the Wildcats was Josh "I can throw every game" Anthony. Anthony tried to "send a message" by hitting the 1st batter with the 1st pitch (which I think is cool), but that strategy backfired on him. That batter and another scored in the 1st inning. After that, Anthony settled down and pitched 7 solid innings.

The game moved at brisk pace (just like the wind), and was completed in less than 2 hours. In my opinion, the game ranked right between "sucky" and "boring" (typical early season game). And we were "Kley-Less", which means, we were without our "Baby Jesus." The Wildcats simply couldn't string together enough hits. A couple of Wildcats hit deep fly balls, that on a non-windy day, likely would have resulted in home runs. Instead, they were routine fly-outs which resulted in a lot of cursing. Call it "luck of the Irish", I guess.

Myke Penaz, new to the Wildcats this year (aquired from New Germany for a case of lawn tractor oil, a new scoring book, and a "Bic" pen) managed to knock in a couple of runs with a deep shot to right, centerfield. Penaz also displayed his "range" and "fancy footwork" at 3rd base by diving at a ball in the hole. Penaz snagged the ball, but fell trying to get up. Smooth. Also, the pronunciation of Penaz's name is "Pen-Naaazzz" (according to the GI announcer). Welcome to the team, Mykey! This is how we do it in Wildcats Territory!

Other than that, not much else to talk about. Wait....Cullen Schultz pitched the 8th inning. He was good. And oh yeah, I got to bat. Should have seen it....Hit a DEEP fly out to......2nd base...Sonofa......

Game Awards: Best Impersonation goes to Marc Kohler. Otis did a spot-on impersonation of a person (whom I can't name) talking about Nate Triplett. It was fantastic and I hope to record the audio sound byte later this year.

Until next game.....
