Mark Messier has been called the best team captain in the history of sport. I say that, this year, Nick Moniz gave Mark a real run for his money. On the ice, Nick did everything. His tremendous skill was surpassed only by his unwavering determination to do everything it takes to win. Many of the nicest goals, many of the nicest passes, many of the best checks... were his. And he never took a bad penalty. Never lost his head. Then, off the ice, he was the model of class. This team was superbly led!
