Thoughts On The Upcoming Season: "I think we will have a great team this year. We have a lot of potential in the outfield and infield. At shortstop, I really want to help the team out, and the seniors, so they can have a great senior year. I think we have a chance to go really far as a team this season. We have a lot of power in our lineup and will hopefully score a lot of runs, because our defense wil be good enough to hold the other team."

Coaches' Breakdown: As we said about Andy Woods, Judd Hammons may be the most improved player in our baseball program. This young man has worked very, very hard to improve every aspect of his game, including the mental aspect of the game. He is a true shorstop, and for someone who does not know what that means, it's simply that if he did choose to play on the next level, he would not spend a lot of time away from the shortstop position. He has the range and throwing arm to make almost any play from that position. He is also not scared to "get dirty." Offensively, Judd has pop in his bat. In fact, he has much more power than you would assume he would have, but that is not the strength of his offensive package. His strength is his God given speed. He can leg out base hits and drop down drag and push bunts for hits. Hammons will be a run producing leadoff hitter on the JV club, but may have the opportunity to be a more traditional leadoff hitter on the Varsity club. He is blessed with tremendous talent, but it's his burning desire to be great that is separating him from his peers.
