| "Ish" brought both the big stick and a smokin arm to the Club in 2008. Armed with a devastating fastball, Clayton broke the Blizzard team record for strikeouts surpassing Mark Hardy's 148 set in 2002. Although primarily used as a Closer in the past, Ish moved into the Starters role in 2008 where he went 7-3 tossing 4 complete games and 2 shutouts. He also saw time at 1st Base and Centrefield when not on the mound. Offensivly, he led the club in just about every category except stolen bases. Clayton has had a banner year in 2008. He was a member of the Gold Medal Winning Island/Central Coast Team at the BC Summer Games and then was picked up by Victoria to play at the Nationals where he had a 2 hit complete game shutout in Team BC's march to the Gold Medal. |
