Eric (Boots) Miller joined the team in 2001; a renewal year for the team. Team management was frantically looking for someone to offset the youth movement and keep the average age up in a respectable range, therefore they were pleased to find Eric. Since there was a vacancy at second base Eric made an immediate impact, or at least the ball made an immediate impact on him. Eric comes from a soccer background and forgets to use his glove to catch the ball. As a result you will often see him kicking the ball around the in field, hence the nickname. While this provides unlimited ammunition for Bill, the pitching staff is not amused. Eric is also noted for his ability to turn a double-play, unfortunately it is either when he is batting or running the bases.
Why is this man still starting on a regular basis? Wings!! His wife, Andrée has been elevated to team Goddess for her regular and generous offering of spicy chicken wings.
