A native of Gary, Indiana, Kimberly Smith started playing organized basketball in the 4th grade as the only girl on a Biddy Basketball League. She her aggressive style that she adapted from playing with the boys followed her to West Side High School (Gary, Indiana) where she earned varsity letters for basketball, softball, volleyball, and track and field. From there, she was awarded a full athletic scholarship to Miami University (OH) where she played from 2001-2005 and led the team in rebounding. This National Strength and Conditioning All-American loves being active and participating in sports because sports have always been able to keep her focused on her goals and aspirations both academically and athletically. Through athletics, as well as other activities and organizations, this Product Marketing Specialist (Steel Case Corporation) believes one can build confidence, leadership, teamwork, and discipline. “Athletics has helped me to build meaningful relationships, learn from different individuals from different walks of life, and also work hard at something I love.”
