Hamilton Basketballs Club’s 10,000 Make Program is a chance for you to improve your shooting skills over the summer giving you a goal you can achieve. We have changed the focus from shots attempted, to shots made. Attached is a calendar and a game plan for all girls and boys entering 4th – 12th grade that would like to participate. When you break it down it shouldn’t take you more than 20 – 30 minutes to make 90 shots a day. So grab a teammate and get it done. You Can Do It!

Our Youth League 1st and 2nd Grade Champs - Reno Big Horns
Coach Dan Reimer and Coach Powell were honored to work with the wonderful kids and families of the Reno Big Horns. The goal was simple, have fun and learn about playing the game of basketball as a team. We won a lot of games this season and had success. However, when we did lose, we showed great character and sportsmanship.

Congratulations to the 8th Grade Jr. Chargers White team on taking 1st place in the UW-Oshkosh Titan tournament on Sunday, January 25th. The Chargers battled strong and gutted out three close victories over West Bend East, Menasha and West Bend West to take home the championship. The team is pictured here in their “Team Turley” warm up shirts and the “D-Strong” headbands that they wore during the games in support of their teammate and in memory of Mr. Turley. Information about all Charger Basketball programs
Three distinct programs are offered to provide basketball opportunities for kids in the Hamilton/Sussex school district from Kindergarten through 8th Grade.
Mighty Mite Basketball - The Mighty Mite program is designed to introduce basketball skills to the youngest of players. The program's goal will be to teach the fundamentals of basketball. The primary focus is on ball handling skills in the form of drills giving each player an opportunity to improve his/her skills while developing a love of the game. The program runs in October, meets weekly, and is open to kids in kindergarten through 3rd grade. Sign up form for this program is listed under the tab "Forms".
Boys & Girls Youth League - The Youth League program is designed to emphasize the fundamentals of team play, individual skills and good sportsmanship. The program is open to boys in 2nd through 6th grade. The season runs from January through March. Games are played Saturday mornings at either Templeton Middle School or Hamilton High School.
Jr. Chargers - The Jr. Charger Basketball program is a select basketball program offered to boys and girls who will be attending Hamilton High School. The program is open to 4th through 8th grade boys and girls. Jr. Charger teams will play 30 to 35 games throughout the basketball season. The season runs from October thought the end of March. League play is in Waukesha County and each team will play in approximately 5 weekend tournaments throughout the season.
Thanks again Coach Ceroni for giving these kids a chance to learn about teamwork and themselves.

The
6th Grade Hamilton Jr. Chargers Red teams first appearance at
State on April 13th & 14th proved to be a great
trip.
They
beat Chippewa Falls, Appleton East, and Middleton in pool play to advance to
the sweet 16. A win against Brookfield East moved them to the elite 8
where they defeated Sun Prairie to move them to the semi-finals.
Injuries
wore on the team as they lost two tough games to teams they defeated in prior
outings, Appleton East and Muskego, to take 4th in the State.
Congratulations to the 5th
Grade Boys White Team on their
consolation championship last weekend. After starting out flat in their
first game losing to Muskego's A team, the boys rallied back in true Charger
fashion by coming out firing in the second game. The boys defeated Waukesha
West by double digits, jumped out against an A team from Cedarburg 22-8 and
finally defeating Germantown in a nail biter to win the Consolation
Championship. Out of the 8 tournaments we've played this season, the boys
have placed in all but 2. Congratulations!
Defense and heart were words of the day for these young men.

The boys finish up the season this weekend playing in the 8th Annual SC
Sports/Concordia Basketball Classic.
The
6th grade Chargers White team won the Concordia March Madness
Challenge over the weekend. The boys played tenacious defense and were
monsters on the boards, grabbing 140 of them in the four game tournament.
The boys defeated Nicolet and West Bend on Saturday and returned on day two to
defeat South Milwaukee and Nicolets A team in the championship. The boys
played unselfishly, making great passes, and showed great poise coming down the
stretch of Sundays games. The championship was decided on a basket with
10 seconds left. More tenacious defense by the Chargers prevented Nicolet
from getting a shot off to tie the game. The tournament was the perfect
way to cap off a fun season of Chargers basketball.
Congratulations to the
5th Grade Boys Red team who won the WYBL League Tournament championship
in the A division this weekend.
On
their way to the title, they defeated Mukwonago 28 10, Waukesha West 60 25,
Pewaukee 39 23, and Franklin 33 21.
This
team went undefeated in league play, and have now won their second straight
WYBL League Tournament championship.

Congratulations to the
6th Grade Boys-Black team who took 2nd place in the WYBL B Division
Tournament this past Sunday. The boys played great team basketball and
outstanding defense all day to earn their way to the championship game.
They beat Wauwatosa West and Shorewood in their fist two games by narrow
margins. In the semifinal, the Chargers came back to tie the game in the
final minute and send it into overtime, where they gained a come from behind
overtime victory. In the championship game against Mukwonago, the
Chargers played tough the entire game. After being down by as much as 12
points with under 4 minutes to go, the Chargers stormed back and cut the lead
to 4 with 1 minute left, only to fall short by 6 points in the end.
The accomplishment in
the WYBL Tournament capped off a terrific season for the 6th Grade Jr.
Chargers-Black team where all the boys improved their basketball skills and the
team compiled over 30 wins on the season.
Congratulations to the 6th Grade Jr. Chargers Black team: Nicholas Barth, Cody
Bobert, Jacob Dye, James Hayden, Zach Heckman, Sam Knerr, Jackson Kollath,
Tyler Minkoff, Matt Mysliwski, Sina Riaza and Sam Yarnot.

The Jr. Chargers 5th
grade Boys White basketball team captures yet another championship at the
Cooney Classic in Oconomowoc on January 26th ,
along with a 2nd place finish at Just a Game Field House in the
Dells on January 19th. The championship run by these young men
was very impressive. The Chargers saw Double digit victories over very
good competition including; Oconomowoc, Whitnall and finally Germantown in the
finals. During the second game, the Chargers were majorly outsized down
low. A superb defensive effort, using their speed, leverage and great
footwork, Josh Meulmans, Justin Stevenson, and Adam Fantl shut down the very
big low post play of Whitnall. Outstanding three point shooting by
Kyle Brinkman, great passing by Elijah Houser and Jacob Fobes, along with
unstoppable dribble penetration by Brenden Ban and Darius Bates proved to be
too much for Whitnall to handle.
During the course of
this Semi-Final game Darius Bates suffered a fractured finger on his shooting
hand. Not wanting to let his team down, he begged his coaches to let him
play in the championship gameand also in
our two league games the next day. Darius went on to score forty points
between those three games and at one point broke a full court press using only
his left hand and scoring the layup on the other end!
The team is playing
its best basketball of the year. Team and individual confidence is at an
all-time high for these young men but most of all, they are having fun!

The
Sussex Hamilton 8th grade red team won
the Kettle Moraine Tournament this past weekend by defeating Waukesha North
58-22, Franklin 59-17, a very good Kettle Moraine team 51-29, and one of the
better teams in the state at the 8th grade level, Grafton
Select 48-39.
The boys played
stifling defense all day Sunday to propel them to the championship. In the
first two games every player scored and contributed quality minutes. Ben Nolde
returned to form, contributing both on the offensive and defensive ends of the
floor all weekend long. Jordan Smith led the charge vs Kettle Moraine with a 19
pt 5 reb effort. Bradley Purko added a team leading 6 rebs and also hit two
timely jump shots. The team was very solid from the charity stripe making 15 of
17 attempts.
In the championship
game Sam Bjorkland could not be stopped. He turned in a very impressive
performance finishing with 19 pts and 7 rebs. Jordan Smiths was physical on
the defensive side of the ball and held one of the better 8th grade
players in the state in check. Hamilton imposed their will on Grafton from
start to finish.
The team really came together this weekend. They played very
well on the defensive end, executed the game plan, and shared the ball. All the
boys contributed in some capacity through out the entire weekend.

ended up losing the championship game to Plymouth 29-22. All in all a
