Supers Fall 9-7 to Jr. Cardinals

Posted May 17, 2011

If the saying "It aint over till it's over" was ever true, today would definitely be the day. After building a 7-1 lead after 2 innings, the Supers looked to have firm control of the game against the visiting Yorkton Jr. Cardinals. Unfortunately, a few timely hits and a couple of miscues in the field was the downfall for the Supers, as the Cardinals rallied for a 9-7 victory.

Derek Palagian started on the hill for for the Supers, tossing 5 innings while recording 1 strikeout in getting a no decision. Darcy Blommaert tossed the final 2 innings and took the loss.

The Supers got all 7 of their runs in the 2nd inning, as they recorded 6 hits and 3 walks. For the game, the Supers got 9 hits. Zach Rakochy and Derek Palagian each recorded 2 hits, while Greg Andreychuk, Evan Rostotski, Ryan Kitchen, Ryan Coleman, and Adam McTavish each recorded 1 hit.

With the loss, the Supers fall to 1-1. The next game will be on Friday, May 20 in Willowbrook. Game time is 6:15
