The Royals played both the Stallions and the Dodgers this week in SSBL action. The first game saw the Royals lose to the Stallions by a score of 3-1. Colin Bauml threw 5 and Paul Strueby threw 1 for the Royals. The pitching was good and the defence was also good. The Royals did have 8 hits with Curtis Strueby and Cole Bauml leading the way with 2 apiece, but left over 10 men on base again. On Thursday the Royals looked to turn things around and they finally did beating the Dodgers by a score of 14-8. Bevan Ledingham threw 6 and Mathew Strueby threw 1 for the Royals. Both pitched well with only 4 of the runs being earned as the Royals made a couple of errors which the Dodgers really capitalized on. The big story of the night was the Royals bats which came alive pounding out 13 hits. Braden Bauml led the way with 4 hits. The Royals still stranded 11 runners with Paul, Curtis, and Luke Strueby striking out and popping up in the fifth inning with the bases loaded and none out. Great work brothers. Dustin Emberley also showed made miles and displayed his blinding speed all night going first to home, first to third, and hit a triple. Overall the Royals played two pretty solid games and. In the words of the great Lou Brown, "It's starting to come together boys, it's starting to come together."
