Royals/Stallions split Double Dip
Posted June 6, 2011
The Royals and Stallions squared off in Marysburg for a doubleheader yesterday, and as most doubleheaders go, they each won one game. The first game saw Colin Bauml and Craig Hucul go toe to toe on the mound, each going the distance. The difference in the game was a Brent Puetz homerun as the Royals won by a score of 2-0. Perfect defense and a Colin Bauml three hitter was the difference in this game.
The second game saw the Royals and Stallions come out swinging as they combined for more hits in the first inning then in the first game. The Royals lead 3-2 into the sixth inning when the Stallions loaded the bases on Royal starter Braden Bauml. Dallas Hucul hit a clutch grand slam off reliever Mathew Strueby and the Royals could not overcome the deficit and lost by a score of 7-4. Luc Torgunrud got the win for the Stallions. The Royals once again played flawless defense and the bats were alright as they had 8 hits lead by Cole Bauml and Brent Puetz who had two apiece. Next action for the Royals is this weekend in Holdfast as they take on the Regina Dodgers at 11am.
