Outlaw Season Review
Posted August 10, 2011
It was an up and down year for the Outlaws as we look into the season. The Outlaws finished fourth in the SSBL with a 12-11 record. Outlaws came out strong to start the season going 4-0, but after some costly injuries, struggling to field players, and schedule battle with YJ, we struggled most of the year. Things looked good over Kenosee weekend as the Outlaws finally seemed to hit their stride coming up to provincials. Inconsistent play and some bad luck led the Outlaws to lose in the semi final of provincials and an early exit out of the SSBL playoffs. Some bright spots of the year were the Outlaws won the Big Moose Tournament & won the Kenosee cup of golf over the Stallions, newcomer Wade Friesen had an excellent year and should continue for years to come. Some old Outlaws got to come out this year for a game or two, which was great to see. The Dylan Nahorniak tournament was a huge success. Tyson showed some great heart this year having to play a couple games with a healing broken leg. Lastly Herp one of our vet's showed that age is only a number as he still puts up unbelievable numbers and plays sound defence.
Outlaws have tentatively sign some midgets which will be great as it looks like the Outlaws are slowly getting a little bit younger. Also were still looking for a left handed pitcher to join the staff. Things definitely look bright for the Outlaws future.
