The Royals took on team Alberta in their first game at Westerns this morning at 11am. The first few innings saw the Royals make a few errors and the bats were quiet. However, in the bottom of the seventh, down 7-1, the Royals exploded for 10 runs to make the score 11-7 after five innings. Mathew Strueby who relieved starter Bevan Ledingham pitched the final 2 and a third innings to get the win. The Royals offense was good, pounding out ten hits with Curtis Strueby leading the way with three. Next action for the Royals is tonight at 8pm against the Elmwood Giants from Manitoba.
