Lady Wildcats beat Hickman County

#21 Chloe Fussell serves one of her three aces to end the set with Hickman County, 25-22.
On Tuesday, September 6, the Lady Wildcats took the court to defend their 4-0 homecourt record. They were hosting the Hickman County Lady Bulldogs. In the first meeting, Waverly came away with the win but both sets were close with identical scores of 25-22.
In the first set of the match, the Lady Wildcats, with Lofton Etheridge serrving, took an early lead, 10-2. Waverly stayed in front and won the first set, 25-16.
After losing the first rally of the second set on a play at the net, the Lady Wildcats then had a string of passing errors causing them to fall behind early, 6-0. This was not the first time Waverly found itself behind. But, things did not seem to be in favor of the Lady Wildcats coming back with the score 19-11. The Lady Bulldogs lost the next rally and Keyle Holland rotated to serve for Waverly. The Lady Wildcats then put together a 9-point run, which included 5 aces from Holland, to move ahead 21-19. Waverly lost the next rally giving the serve back to Hickman County. The lead went back to the Lady Bulldogs, 22-21, with the Lady Wildcats having two passing errors. During the next rally, a call at the net was made in favor of the Lady Wildcats and the serve went back to Waverly with the score tied at 22. Chloe Fussell rotated to serve for the Lady Wildcats and finished by serving 3 aces giving Waverly the win, 25-22. This improved the Lady Wildcats record to 8-0 in conference play.
The B-Team suffered a loss to the Lady Bulldogs in their first meeting and had plans on changing that this time around. The B-Team was successful in taking the win in two sets, 25-16 and 25-23.
