On Monday September 19, the Lady Wildcats faced the Lewis County Lady Panthers and were looking to continue their undefeated streak for the season. Waverly was first to serve in the first set. The Lady Wildcats were first on the scoreboard and never allowed the Lady Panthers any opportunities to take the lead. Waverly won the first set 25-12. The score stayed close early on in the second set and was tied 7-7 at one point. But, the Lady Wildcats started pulling things together and took the second set 25-18. Win the win the Lady Wildcats took sole possession of 1st place in the conference with only one match to play in regular season.
The B-Team was also victorious against the Lady Panthers winning in two sets 25-12 and 25-12. Serving leaders were Jordan Barnett 9 for 9 with 4 aces, Winnie Bradley 8 for 9 with 6 aces, Paige Culp 5 for 6 with 4 aces, Kyra Lewis 4 for 5 with 3 aces, Candace Clay 9 for 12 with 9 aces, Jazlyn Edmondson 3 for 4 with 1 ace, and Kaley Grisham 1 for 2 with 1 ace. Passing leaders were Winnie Bradley 17 for 18 with 2 digs, Jordan Barnett 7 for 8 with 1 dig, Candace Clay 4 for 5. Kaley Grisham added a dig for Waverly and Jaice Vann added a kill.
The Lady Wildcats traveled to Charlotte on Tuesday, September 20 for their last match of the regular season and both teams were unsuccessful. A-Team scores were 15-25 and 18-25 and finished the regular season with an impressive 11-1 record. B-Team scores were 15-25 and 24-26 and finished their regular season with a 7-5 record.
