The Outlaws took the field last night for the season opener and they didn't disappoint in a 8-3 win over the diggers. The offense was balanced led by newcomer Shane Gimas who went 2-4 with a rbi. Palmer also had two hits and two rbi's and seven other outlaws had a hit. Freezy drew three walks.
Pitching was solid as three pitchers threw, Klassen threw three innings and pitched out of a jam in the first. After that he settled into a good groove. Brent Campbell threw three scoreless innings and Gimas closed out the seventh. It was a very odd scene in the outlaw dugout as we had seventeen players on the bench with some key players out. Definitely should be one of the deepest Outlaw team in years. Outlaws are 1-0 while the diggers are 0-1
Next Outlaw action is this Thursday as they face the Blue Jays. First pitch is @ 6:30.
