St. Louis Surge Owner, Khalia Collier received the Monsanto 2012 Young Leaders award on April 22, 2012. Collier was given the award for being a leader in the community and for her work as Co-Chair for the Emerson Family YMCA Strong Community Campaign.
The event was sponsored and held by the YMCA World Service. World service began in 1889 and since then has given 1 million dollars a year to numerous YMCA’s around the world. The International Program of the YMCA of Greater St. Louis provides teens and young adults the opportunity to participate in their Youth Exchange Programs with partnering countries.
The Monsanto Family YMCA hosts an international dinner and raffle annually to promote awareness and raise funds to continue the YMCA mission.
