SURGE DROPS THE HAMMER AGAINST THE ARCH ANGELS

After a win last week that was too close for comfort the St. Louis Surge, who put any doubters to rest as they defeated the Missouri Arch Angels 96-66.
The Surge led the Arch Angels by as much as 40 points during the game. The Surge had a slow start to the game ending the first quarter behind the Arch Angels 17 to 20, but a pair of three pointers and free throws From Nancy Hesemann (22) in the second quarter gave the Surge the momentum they needed to take over the game. T
he Surge ran the floor playing great defense and offense as the Arch Angels buckled under the pressure put on by the Surge. As Brittney Dowell, head coach for the Surge, shouted plays, players responded with amazing skill and prowess. Newcomer Jaleesa Butler (32) had the Surge’s first double-double of the season scoring 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Kari Koch (1) kept up her great consistent play, scoring 21 points getting six assists and eight steals. Gabriella Green (35) also chipped in 14 points and used her great defense to help the Surge stall the Archangels to only scoring nine points in the third quarter.
Next week the Surge will be hosting their second home game of the year playing the Chicago Lady Steam June 2 at 7:00 p.m. at the University of Missouri St. Louis.
