SURGE CLEARS THE STEAM
The St. Louis Surge (6-1) added to their winning streak this weekend, defeating the Chicago Lady Steam 56-99 on Saturday, June 2.

The Surge hit the ground running and kept the Lady Steam back on their heels the entire game. After last week’s performance the Surge were looking to solidify their statement by showing how much of a dominating force they can be week to week.

Leading 23-51 at the half, the Surge showed that they were relentless, would not let up or show mercy on any team that steps onto their home court. Back to back weeks the Surge have put close to one-hundred points on the board and with their continuous high intensity defensive and offensive play it seems that no one can stop this power Surge.

Jordan Plummer (21) had the game high score with 21 points, she also had five steals and five assists. Kari Koch (1), Christy Lane (34), and Jaleesa Butler (32) also contributed double digit points scoring 12, 10, and 16 points respectively. The Surge also showed that with a great offense you need a great defense causing 29 turnovers while only committing 12 themselves. They were also 10/16 from the line.

Looking into the crowd you could see the joy and excitement that the Surge is starting to bring to St. Louis. With a three game winning streak going into another home game this weekend it seems that the Surge cannot and will not be stopped.
