Father's Day Tourney ends in rain
Posted June 17, 2012
The 2012 SSBL Father's day tourney started off with some rain and ended with rain. The Outlaws were in action both Friday night and Saturday. The tournament didn`t start off so well as the Outlaws lost to Marysburg 13-1. The game was filled with walks, no hits, and rain which all hampered the boys.
The first game on Saturday was against Carlyle and like Friday it started off shaky. However the Outlaws picked up their game and won 7-3. Moose started and after a slow start got in a groove and pitched a hard fought five innings. Brent Campbell pitched the rest and did a solid job. The bats had some struggles but some timely hits were the key in getting the victory. Gimas and Jamison led the way with two hit and two rbi`s apiece.
In game two of Saturday the Outlaws faced the Dodgers. Outlaws had a great game of hitting and pitching in a 11-0 victory. Klassen was on the bump and did an outstanding job of throwing strikes and not getting into many jams. He pitched a solid 5 innings and Juicebox pitched the sixth. Offensively the Outlaws erupted with 16 hits. They were led by Juicebox, Jamison, & Herp who all had three hits. Every Outlaw who had an at bat had a hit. Highlight of the game was Frenchee who played second for a couple innings fielded a picture perfect ground ball however the throw was a different story as it was thrown straight in the ground and then the dugout. The team was very supportive as everyone had a pretty good laugh. When asked what happend Frenchee said he must have picked up too much shale. Skid!!
The Outlaws were scheduled to end their round robin play with Yorkton Sunday morning however we were meet with rain that ended the day.
It was a good two days. There were some some struggles but a lot of positives can be taken away. Hopefully the bats can continue to roll as they`re five games before the trip down to Kenossee.
Last note it was good to see all the wives, gf`s, & friends out to support. Even Pete came out to watch a couple games.
