Axemen at Bangor
Posted July 18, 2012
The Axemen headed to Bangor to play the Redbirds on dark dreary day. Playing through the rain the Axemen put up one run in the first inning. Little did they know that would be their only run of the game. The offense put up seven hits in seven innings, but left twelve men on base throughout the game. The Redbirds scored five runs in the second inning and one more run in the sixth for a final score of 6-1. Mike Stoughtenger pitched all seven innings for the Axemen. Stoughtenger had five strikeouts, but gave up eight walks and eight hits. On offense Stoughtenger went 1x2 with two BB's and scored the only run for the Axemen.
