The Worst Series Ever Played

Posted August 27, 2012

With two games being played on short notice rescheduling and with those games having no real meaning by the time they were played; this did not bode well high quality baseball.

Game 1:  2 starting pitchers throwing knuckle balls, a 59 year old man, 3 errors in the first inning and other easy plays that were not made.  The DD put up 8 despite Having our # 1 & 2 fans in the stands cheering us on.  Sadly their terrible chirps did not inspire the Dbacks.  Nothing of importance happened over the next couple innings until Captain Serious tired of the awful chirps drove a ball down the third base line and then told our fans that they were in fact tied for the #1 spot.  The remainder of the game was a battle of who could make more errors.  Dbacks won this with a conservative estimate of 11 to 13.  They mixed in many more hits to make the comeback complete.

It couldn't have happened to a better team.

Game 2:  To summarize; Freeman Pitched. Enough said?

In what was possibly the worst played game of the year (despite spectacular middle infield play by the Dbacks)  a final score of 20-15 in a darkness shortened game was how it ended.  Bombs by Killer and Scooter and many, many hits from everyone.  Leading the pack was the middle infield combination of James Trask and Tony Wyllie.  They went a combined 11-13 with 7 doubles and 2 triples.  That wasn't even the highlight for them however;  between the two the turned 4 DP's, made 8 highlight reel diving plays and basically were the saviors on the night.  These guys are good.   If the Dbacks stand a chance they will need to keep these two healthy and playing up the middle for the playoffs.

MVP - Fiver                      Vag - Scooter
