Fastest 10 innings ever?

A big crowd was out to support the Dbacks again.  Even Nelly made it out with the family (he kept the chirps to a minimum) to see how the team that took his coveted most hated title was doing it.

Tom started on bump against former Jesus look like Teddy.  Both were dealing with 10K's aside and with average defense on both sides it kept for an interesting first 7 innings.  Tied after 7; score at 4-4, both pitchers refused to quit and headed out inning after inning shutting down everything in their way.

Without the support of Jesus (Rumor has it he is still pissed the Teddy was stealing his look earlier in the season) the Longhorns pitcher ran out of gas (or maybe just cigarettes) and couldn't finish the 10th.  The Dbacks ripped everything thrown up there for that one clutch inning and were able to put up another 4; this would have been 5 however a missed squeeze sign and near fatal accident prevented that.  Tom came out and with his last few ounces of ulnar collateral ligament was able to finish off 10 innings of solid ball.  He was disappointed after the game as this lowered his K's per game ratio.

Highlights:

  1. 8-4 10 inning battle and we had it all wrapped up in 2.5 hours.
  2. No one snapped and got suspended on the worst umpire in FMBA history
  3. JR survived a sniper shooting out his ankle

In other news the Dbacks will be running a 3 day course on understanding simple signs over the long weekend.  Admission is free with a passing grade.

MVP - Tom                       Vag - Kennedy
