Supers Win Opener

The Supers started off their 2013 season at home on Wednesday night vs the Swan River Reds. After 4 1/2 innings, the score was 2-1 Supers as the game was breezing along. In the bottom of the fifth, the floodgates opened as the Supers put up ten runs to put the game out of reach, and cruised to a 15-1 victory.

Pitching was in mid season form as Derek Palagian, Colby Parachoniak, and Jason Blommaert combined on a 2 two hitter with 12 strikeouts. Palagian's final pitching line was 5 innings, 2 hits, 1 run, and 9 strikeouts as he picked up the win. Colby pitched a 1-2-3 6th inning recording 2 strikeouts, while Blommaert had a 1-2-3 7th inning recording a strikeout.

Zach Rakochy led the way offensively with 3 singles, 2 stolen bases, an rbi and 3 runs scored. Jason Blommaert had 2 singles, 2 rbi's and 2 runs scored. Logan Parachoniak had a 2 rbi double while scoring two runs and drew 2 walks. Trevor Latham had 3 rbi's, while Evan Rostotski had 2 runs scored and a single. Brogan Legebokoff smacked a double in his first at bat as a Super. Also making their Supers debuts were Tannum Wyonzek, Logan Parachoniak, Colby Parachoniak, Jason Blommaert and Scott Sharp.

The Supers next game will be on Friday as the Russell Bulls come to town. Game time is 6:15 PM at Al Sapieha Field
