Supers Defeat Russell Bulls
Posted May 24, 2013
It was a cool, windy evening in Canora on Friday, May 24 as the Russell Bulls rolled into town. The Supers bats were ice cold this game, but fortunately the pitching continued its early season effectiveness as Travis Fogg and Logan Parachoniak combined to give up just four hits and one run in a 3-1 Supers victory.
Fogg started the game, allowing just two hits and a walk while keeping the Bulls scoreless for five innings. He also picked up five strikeouts while picking up the win. Parachoniak came in relief in the top of the sixth, allowing two hits, a walk, an earned run and three strikeouts while recording the save.
After five innings, the Supers failed to record a hit off Bulls starting pitcher Kelly Clark, while drawing only two walks. In the top of the sixth, catcher Zach Rakochy reached base on a throwing error, followed by the Supers first hit of the game by Jason Blommaert. After Blommaert advanced to second on a ground out, Colby Parachoniak hit a 2 rbi single into right center to give the Supers some much needed insurance.
With the win, the Supers improve to 2 wins and 0 losses on the season. The next game is scheduled for Monday, May 27 at 7:30 PM in Melville vs the Bison
