On Sunday June 9, the Supers travelled to Swan River to take on the Reds at Orville Minish Field. The game was pushed back two hours as the field needed to be prepared due to rain from the previous day. The field was in good condition for the game, and after six innings the score was all tied up at 2. In the top of the 7th, the Supers loaded the bases on two walks and a hit batter, followed by three rbi singles and an error to give the Supers a 6-2 victory.
Supers starting pitcher Jason Blommaert tossed six solid innings, allowing two earned runs, six hits, three walks and eight strikeouts to pick up the win. He got into a couple jams, but showed some resilience by pitching his way out. Trevor Latham pitched the final inning, striking out two. Nick Schneider of the Reds pitched well, allowing two runs in five innings to get a no decision. Reliever Braden Caruk was tagged with the loss, pitching the final two innings
Evan Rostotski continued his hot hitting with three singles, an rbi and a run to lead the Supers in the hitting department. Tannum Wyonzek had two singles and an rbi, while Greg Andreychuk had two singles, two runs and a stolen base. Trevor Latham had an rbi single, a run scored and a stolen base. Logan Parachoniak had an rbi single and a run, Scott Sharp singled, and Randy Brenzen collected his first hit as a Super plus a walk and a run.
The Supers are now half way done the regular season with seven wins and no losses. Their next game is this Tuesday, June 11 in Yorkton at 8:00 PM vs the Yankees. It should be a great matchup as both teams are undefeated.
