Supers Lose Pitchers Duel to Yankees
Posted June 11, 2013
The Supers travelled to Yorkton on Tuesday, June 11 to face the Yankees in a battle of undefeated teams at the top of the standings. A pitchers duel would take place between Colby Parachoniak of the Supers, and the Yankees Logan Calanchie. Both pitchers pitched very well, but unfortunately for the Supers they could not capitalize on any opportunities as they fell 2-0, dropping to second place in the Southeast Senior Baseball League standings.
Colby pitched a fantastic game, allowing only two earned runs on four hits while striking out eleven over six innings. On most nights this would be more than enough for the win, but his counterpart Calanchie kept the Supers in check the entire evening so Colby would take the hard luck loss.
The Supers could only generate four hits the entire game. Jason Blommaert had two singles, while Scott Sharp and Trevor Latham each recorded a single.
The Supers now sit with a record of 7-1, and will have a tough matchup at home vs the Langenburg Indians on Thursday evening at 6:15 PM.
